The Classic Hot Toddy
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.
1½ ounce brown liquor such as brandy, whiskey or rum
1 tablespoon honey
½ ounce lemon juice
1 cup hot water
Cinnamon stick, lemon wedge and star anise
Combine the first four ingredients into the bottom of a warmed mug. Garnish this with lemon, cinnamon stick or star anise.
For all of you out there looking for something a bit different –
3 ounces Green Tea Liqueur
4 ounces steeped Gold-Tipped Assam Black Tea
1 ounce double cream
Combine the liqueur with the steeped tea. Add the Chai spices and sit for 2 minutes. Strain the liquid, reserving cinnamon stick for garnish. Add the double cream and et voila!
Sit back, relax and sip on your warming drink and enjoy the fireworks!
