Interior trend: Floral Fancies

Once the epitome of country cottage chic, florals have had a new lease of life in the interior world. The perfect way of adding colour and warmth to your rooms, floral can work just as well in a minimalist ‘space’ as in a country manor house.

Art
A quick and easy way of adding an instant splash of colour. Best of all, you can spend as much or as little as you wish on art. If you’re looking for something on the traditional side, we love the Royal Horticultural Society designs, found here. These would look great grouped in two, four or six on a plain wall. Watercolours can provide a more subtle and muted touch to a home. Whilst stark photography can complement a more modern setting.

Soft furnishings
A well placed cushion or throw will introduce an update to a bedroom or lounge. Mixing designs will add a touch of playfulness and keep it modern, just be sure to try and keep a consistent thread in the theme – we like to keep to a colour palette and mix floral with geometric prints. Zara Home currently has plenty of choice no matter what your chosen colour.

Vases
Sometimes the simplest option is the most effective! Why not head to your garden (or the local supermarket/florist) and purchase beautiful blooms to fill your home. We especially like to display our big bunches in our Flora Large Vase or use single stems to fill a selection of our Gem collection.

Statement wall
Perhaps you’re looking to make more of a statement? Using beautiful botanical wall paper will do just the trick. Here you can let your imagination run wild. We’re big fans of House of Hackney – whether you’re looking for flowers, foliage or flamingos there’s a print for you.

Accessories
Maybe you would prefer something a little more subtle. Add some flower power to your bathroom with this beautiful shower curtain from Urban Outfitters. Our Daisy collection would also look beautiful holding summer nibbles in the garden too.
